The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiativepresented by President Xi and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Europe. With the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, international business activities around the world have taken on a new trend. In order to further strengthen the economic and trade exchanges between Qingdao and Europe, promote the exchanges and cooperation between Chinese enterprises and European capital, law firms, investment institutions and government agencies, jointly explore opportunities in the investment market between China and Europe, introduce European high-tech, promote industrial cooperation and development between China and Europe, and inject new impetus into local investment in Qingdao,Shanghai AllBright Law Qingdao Office invited the European Chinese Lawyers Association to visit Qingdao and hold the "2023 China Europe Investment and Merger & Acquisition Industry Seminar and Matchmaking Conference".

      This event was guided by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Shinan District Government of Qingdao, and the Qingdao Chamber of Commerce of the China International Chamber of Commerce. It was organized by the European Chinese Lawyers Association and co hosted by Qingdao Investment Promotion Co., Ltd. and Shanghai AllBright Law Qingdao Office. Qingdao International Business Association （QIBA）, China Ocean University Alumni Association Foreign Alumni, Qingdao Neway International Business Co., Ltd., and DK Cake provided support for this event.

      With the development of the world economy, global capital is rapidly and closely linked, forming a globalized economy and capital market. At the same time, China's economy is developing rapidly, and the demand for Chinese private capital from overseas countries is increasing day by day. The time has come to guide international advantageous resources and projects into the Chinese private capital circle, and to guide Chinese private capital towards the world.

      Wang Feng, Secretary of the Shinan District Committee of Qingdao, Ruan Luning, Deputy Inspector of the Qingdao Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Lv Guanghui, Director of the Qingdao Investment Promotion Center, Zhang Jun, Deputy Mayor of Shinan District, Xia Qing, Director of the Shinan District Judicial Bureau, Lan Tian, Vice Chairman of the Shinan District Federation of Industry and Commerce and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, and Zhao Wei, General Manager of Qingdao Investment Promotion Co., Ltd. were invited to attend the event. Representatives from directors and members of the European Chinese Lawyers Association, well-known European consulting institutions, and well-known investment institutions in fields such as automobiles, power batteries, new energy, biopharmaceuticals, technology, and high-end equipment at home and abroad exchanged and shared ideas at the event site.

      Wang Feng, Secretary of the Shinan District Committee of Qingdao City, delivered an opening speech for the event and expressed strong support for the event. He elaborated on the investment and development opportunities, industrial and regional advantages, preferential policies, etc. of Shinan District of Qingdao City, and wished the event a complete success.

      Zhang Jun, Deputy Mayor of Shinan District, Qingdao City, introduced Shinan District to all guests. In 2022, the gross domestic product of Shinan District in Qingdao City was 149.6 billion yuan, with a per capita GDP of 37000 yuan and a per capita disposable income of over 70000 yuan. It has been selected as one of the top 100 innovative zones in China for two consecutive years. We welcome more high-quality projects from home and abroad to settle in Shinan District.

      Ruan Luning, Deputy Inspector of the Qingdao Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Lv Guanghui, Director of the Qingdao Investment Promotion Center, expressed in their speeches that after the end of the epidemic, Chinese enterprises' overseas trade and investment have continued to develop, hoping to help more enterprises successfully go overseas and open up a new market. Finally, they expressed gratitude for the invitation from the European Chinese Lawyers Association and congratulated and strongly supported the successful hosting of this event.

      Gu Qun, President of the European Chinese Lawyers Association, introduced the European Chinese Lawyers Association as the organizer of the event. She stated that this event focuses on the European region where Chinese companies invest overseas and promotes European companies to enter China, focusing on industries such as biopharmaceuticals, big health healthcare, new generation information technology, and high-end equipment manufacturing. She also expressed her views on the impact of political, economic, and cultural changes in Europe on investors.

      Special speeches and recommendations from seven major countries

      The sharing session of the event is divided into seven major parts: the German session, the French session, the British session, the Swedish session, the Spanish Portuguese session, the Czech session, and the Dutch session.

      The Dutch Greenfield Investment and the distribution of Chinese enterprises in Europe, as well as the selection of European headquarters, were introduced to the guests in the Dutch Biliu special session. 

      The Czechpart provides a detailed introduction to the new regulations for the review of direct investment and foreign investment by Chinese enterprises in the Czech Republic.

      The Spanish-Portuguese sharing allows you to learn about investment opportunities in Murcia, Spain, the latest investment policies of the Spanish and Portuguese governments, an overview of Portugal's latest investment laws, as well as tax, labor, and social security related legal systems.

      A keynote speech on compliance risk control and risk management of overseas investment by Chinese enterprises in the UK, as well as the latest trends of Chinese enterprises in hot investment areas in the UK, was held inUK sharing.

      The sharing of the Swedish is the strategy of investing in Sweden and the challenges and opportunities of talent management for Chinese companies going abroad to Europe.

      In  the Germany part, Zhu Yifan, Vice President of the European Chinese Lawyers Association and consultant to the German law firm Knoll, presided over the event. Multiple guests were invited to have a roundtable discussion on the latest investment policies of the German government, foreign investment review, green space investment and cross-border M&A post investment management and transaction tax framework, as well as tax considerations in cross-border transactions.

      France introduced the recent situation of China's mergers and acquisitions in France.

      After regional representatives from Germany, France, Sweden and other regions conducted relevant project roadshows, the conference successfully concluded. The theme of this event is to promote communication and cooperation between Chinese enterprises and European capital, law firms, investment institutions, and government agencies. Through multi-level coordination with European investment promotion agencies, consulting agencies, and economic organizations, we have discovered and developed excellent projects with good investment potential in Europe, introduced European high-tech, and sought European cooperation opportunities,and jointly explored the investment market between China and Europe.
