Our featured speaker, James McGregor is an American author, journalist and businessman who has lived in China for more than 20 years. He is a senior counselor for APCO Worldwide and a member of the firm’s international advisory council. A professional speaker and CNBC commentator who specializes in China’s business, politics and society, he regularly appears in the media to discuss China-related topics. He is the author of the book One Billion Customers: Lessons from the Front Lines of Doing Business in China (Simon & Schuster, 2005) and the 2010 report China’s Drive for ‘Indigenous Innovation’ – A Web of Industrial Policies. He was the former CEO of Dow Jones & Company in China, The Wall Street Journal bureau chief in China and Taiwan and an active member of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham) for more than 10 years in which he served as chairman in 1996.
